ActionAid UK are recruiting for two Senior Advocacy Managers; one to act as a focal point for humanitarian influencing and one to focus on women’s economic rights.

ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are changing the world with women and girls. We are ending violence and fighting poverty so that all women, everywhere, can create the future they want.

Both Senior Advocacy Managers will act as organisational influencing experts, to advance advocacy on priority issues and make change happen on international development policy and practice.

As a Senior Advocacy Manager, you will play a key role in developing advocacy strategies, policy content as needed and identifying key targets for ActionAid’s work.

We will look to you to ensure that ActionAid UK’s advocacy messages, reports and campaign strategies are clear, coherent and that they are well placed to achieve success.

An important element of this role will be your focus on identifying opportunities to increase ActionAid’s profile and to promote our campaign objectives and to build awareness of our organisational identity.

This work will be key to ensuring that we are able to enhance our political position in the sector.

You will work with the Deputy Director of Advocacy to ensure that ActionAid’s public messaging, i.e. media, social media and campaigns messages are politically appropriate and that they will support the achievement of our organisational objectives- influencing and mobilising resources.

To succeed within this role, it is essential that you have demonstrable experience of working in advocacy, in parliament or in Whitehall. We can only accept applications from those with a strong knowledge of the UK political context and system.

Our preferred candidate will also have proven experience of developing and implementing successful influencing strategies.
