We are searching for an ambitious fundraiser looking to take a step up in role and responsibilities, to be our client’s new Fundraising Manager.

Our client is an education charity which partners experienced teachers with able and disadvantaged young people. They have worked with over 1300 disadvantaged pupils, delivering tailored tuition programmes to improve their academic attainment and future opportunities.

Position: Fundraising Manager

Location: London

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week – we are open to flexible hours, working from home and compressed hours.

Duration: Contract length 12 months initially, with the expectation of becoming permanent thereafter

About the role:

Our client’s fundraising activities allow them to offer significant discounts to schools for running their programmes while still covering operating costs. Over the last year they have secured significant grants and investment, and have clear, ambitious plans to grow. The Fundraising Manager will be critical to their success.

This new role will take the lead on fundraising, reporting directly to the CEO. You will have the opportunity to shape fundraising, and with time grow the team around you. The priority will be to grow support for the expansion of our client’s core tuition programme.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the CEO and Fundraising Trustee to refresh and expand the fundraising strategy
  • Refine the existing fundraising systems and processes to build a fit for purpose fundraising operation
  • Manage and enhance relationships with current trust, foundation and corporate supporters
  • Build a strong pipeline of potential new supporters, and expand our client’s network and relationships
  • Submit high-quality proposals for funds, and secure significant new funding
  • Produce cases for support, development plans and other fundraising reports and documents
  • Manage and develop stewardship systems for all supporters, including recognition, employee engagement, publicity and events

 

About you:

You will be an ambitious self-starter with a strong track record of successful fundraising, crucially they want to hire someone looking to make a step up in responsibility. The ideal Head of Fundraising will have significant experience in Trusts & Foundations and be comfortable working independently and in close collaboration with colleagues.

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of fundraising, ideally with trusts and foundations, covering both new business development and account management
  • Conducting donor mapping and identifying potential new supporters
  • Producing high quality funding applications and grant monitoring reports
  • Evidence of securing large grants (£20,000+) or other forms of funding
  • Experience of managing, delivering, and growing supporter relationships
  • A highly developed persuasive writing style with experience of successfully writing professional bid and grant report documents
  • Strong communication, presentation and project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent relationship management skills across a diverse mix of people and organisations
