One of Cambridge’s top fundraising teams seeks a talented individual for the position of Major Donor Lead, Capital Campaigns. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enabling them to maximise on funding opportunities to support a new on-site children’s hospital; Cambridge Children’s. 

Our client raises funds to support the Cambridge University Hospitals. Thanks to the generous support of their donors, the Hospitals can provide a level of patient care beyond that which NHS funding alone can deliver, and make projects happen more quickly or to a greater degree, than might otherwise be possible.  

The planned campaign is expected to raise £100 million through their collaboration with the University of Cambridge Development Office and Head to Toe charity.

Working in collaboration with the Head of Capital Campaigns, the Major Donor Lead, Capital Campaigns will strategically drive forward an ambitious approach to major gift fundraising for Cambridge Children’s, building on existing relationships and identifying new prospects. The postholder will have a proven track record of securing major gifts at 6-figure levels, as well as experience of achieving financial targets.

The successful candidate will possess outstanding relationship building skills, based on integrity, diplomacy and the ability to establish deep levels of trust and mutual respect. This role requires someone that can confidently build and maintain successful relationships with people at all levels and retain their support to ensure income targets are met.

This is a new role, which will provide a rewarding challenge for a driven, proactive and highly committed individual, who as a member of the Capital Campaigns team, will help lead the institution into a new sphere of major gift fundraising. It is envisaged that once philanthropic income is secured for Cambridge Children’s, the postholder will build on this success and raise funds for future capital campaign projects on the Biomedical Campus.
