Could you share your expertise to transform lives for the most vulnerable in our society? Have you got credibility and passion to make a difference? If the answer is Yes, why not consider becoming a FitzRoy Trustee?
About us
FitzRoy is a pioneering national charity, committed to transforming the lives of adults with disabilities & autism. Our vision is a society where people are treated as equals, regardless of disability. We are seeking new Trustees to complement our existing Board & provide strategic direction, independent judgement & new perspectives to the organisation.
About the role
As a Non-Executive Director, you will be responsible for the overall governance & strategic direction of the charity. This includes ensuring the charity has a clear vision & ensuring financial stability & compliance with relevant governing documents, laws & regulatory guidelines. Board members can expect to commit the equivalent of 1day per month, with most meetings held in London. Previous experience in the charity or social care sector is not essential.
About you
Strategic in your approach with a commitment to FitzRoy values, you will use your experiences to ensure FitzRoy continues to thrive in a turbulent sector. As part of a Board of highly skilled trustees, you will make challenging decisions for the future of FitzRoy, engage in stimulating conversation & stretch your skills to experience a truly rewarding role.
At this time, we are particularly interested in speaking to individuals with in-depth knowledge & expertise within the following areas:
- property/ housing
- social care
- accountancy
- campaigning/ fundraising
We are keen to reflect diversity on our board & encourage applications from those with a personal connection to learning disabilities.
In Return
If you are able to commit your time & energy you will be rewarded by being part of a forward-thinking charity dedicated to transforming lives for some of the most vulnerable in the community. This is a voluntary role with no remuneration. Expenses will be paid.
