The British Academy – the UK’s national academy for the humanities and social sciences – is seeking an Assistant to the President and Senior Management Team. We are seeking a highly motivated and efficient individual to work closely with the President and the Senior Management Team, helping to ensure the smooth running of the central office while also providing day-to-day support to the running of the Academy.
The post holder will provide administrative and secretarial support for the President including diary management, coordinating meetings between the President and key stakeholders and maintaining the CRM system to make sure the President’s contact list is up to date.
Additionally, they will also provide administrative support to the Senior Management Team, including diary support and events, as well as assisting in the organisation of the Academy’s Standing Committee Council meetings.
The nature of the role involves a high degree of autonomy and confidentiality. The successful candidate will have experience sufficient to demonstrate capacity to deliver in a varied and demanding administrative support role. They will also need to be proficient in secretarial skills such as accurate typing (with reasonable speed), an eye for layout and presentation, meticulous attention to detail, excellent organisational skills including inbox-management, filing, taking minutes, being IT literate, etc.
