We are working in partnership with the Hospice Isle of Man, an independent healthcare provider who, is now seeking to appoint a new Director of Care.  This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to shape and develop palliative care services on the Isle of Man, to deliver the core purpose of the hospice:

                'Supporting you to live well, your way, to the end of your life'

The hospice is committed to providing care to anyone on the Isle of Man living with a condition which is terminal or life limiting.  Hospice Isle of Man provides a comprehensive range of care services, with 600 referrals each year - including In-Patient, Day Treatment, Hospice at Home, Complementary Therapies and a full range of services for adults, children and young people.  The hospice is currently undergoing major changes with investment in new buildings, staff recruitment and research and development.

The successful applicant will be a member of the Executive Management of Hospice Isle of Man and will act as deputy for the Chief Executive.  This is a core role for the hospice, with responsibility for delivery of all care services, always ensuring that the services provided fulfil and exceed legislative and regulatory requirements.

The successful individual will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Professional health or social care registration
  • Professional management or leadership qualification and empowering leadership style
  • Degree level or vocational equivalent
  • Health or social care provision, including as Responsible Person/ Registered Manager
  • Service Development experience
  • Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strategy and Change Management
  • Influencing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
