Our client are the largest provider of accommodation and outreach support to those who experienced Modern Slavery in London, supporting people across all London Boroughs. Due to the Hestia Underground Lives report presented in the commons and wider media coverage and awareness, the need for their service has grown massively in the last 2 years and because of this their team is growing too.

The Role

This is an amazing opportunity to be part of the ever-growing modern slavery conversation. You don’t need experience within modern slavery. They want people who are passionate about supporting vulnerable adults, someone who can relate to the complexity of the situation of people in crisis and who is happy to travel across London.

As one of their Outreach Advocates, you will genuinely help change people’s lives across London. This is a very autonomous role where you have the option to arrange your own day but with the knowledge you have a whole team to support you at any point.

About you

As part of the team you will have:

  • Experience or knowledge of providing advice and support to vulnerable clients, including crisis management and risk assessment.
  • Awareness of the impact of crime on victims, witnesses, and the wider community.
  • Experience of using MS Office and of using computerised systems and databases to accurately record information
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.

In return…

Our client offers a culture of learning and development, with access to an extensive range of learning and development opportunities as well as genuine career progression. In everything they do, they seek to be: respectful, genuine, dedicated, collaborative and courageous and if these values resonate with you, they would love to hear from you.

About the Organisation

Our client supports adults and children in crisis across London and the surrounding regions. They campaign and advocate nationally on the issues that affect them. This includes victims of modern slavery, women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, young care leavers and older people. From giving someone a home, to helping them to get the right mental health support, they support people at the moment of crisis and enable them to build a life beyond crisis.

Our client is supported by more than 460 volunteers who provide specialist skills such as art therapy yoga, IT, gardening, cooking as well as befriending and fundraising. They are proud to be the home of UK SAYS NO MORE, bringing together a diverse coalition of individuals, charities, businesses and public-sector organisations to campaign for an end to the domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Our client is proud to be a Disability Confident employer and welcome applications from candidates with lived experience.

You may also have experience in areas such as Crisis Advisor, Outreach Worker, Recovery Worker, Crisis Worker, Outreach Coordinator.
