The Fred Hollows Foundation, an international NGO founded in 1992 has been a driving force in the development and implementation of blindness prevention programs in some of the poorest and most isolated regions in the world. Currently operating in 26 countries throughout Africa, Asia, The Pacific and the Middle East as well as in Australia, The Foundation is working to end avoidable blindness.

About the role:

Working as part of our Global Resource Mobilisation team, The Grants Coordinator for South Asia and Middle East (SAME)  is accountable for grants management, donor engagement and successful delivery of the portfolio of institutional donor-funded grants in the SAME Region of the Program’s Division in line with The Foundation’s strategic framework.

What your day looks like - (although no two days are alike!)

Grants management and Reporting

  • Provide leadership and hands on support in negotiating of existing and new grants
  • Monitor progress of grant funded projects
  • Manage internal reporting process and ensure high quality reports are submitted to external donors

Grants Administration

  • Support program teams to maintain a complete and orderly administrative record of all proposals, contracts, partnerships, grants and other pre-award and post-award instruments including fiscal and operations reports

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Manage the regular monitoring and documenting of grant expenditures and grant funded activities to ensure compliance with donor regulations and terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and disseminate donor compliance requirements to implementing teams.

Regional Support and Capacity Building

  • Build the capacity of staff in the South Asia and Middle East Region in all aspects of grants management

What we’re looking for:

To be successful, you will have tertiary qualifications and knowledge of institutional donor requirements, business development and grant coordination with experience in program management with international donors, e.g. DFID, DFAT or USAID. You will have experience developing grant applications and possess the ability to identify and develop risk minimization strategies to ensure adherence to donor and grant requirements. You will have excellent written and interpersonal skills, strong relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate professionally at all levels, across donors, partners, and management. Critical to your success will be your positive and self-motivated approach, as well as organizational and time management skills to ensure you manage conflicting deadlines.

This role, based in London and will require Travel throughout the South Asia and Middle East region.
