Trustee for Ben’s Care Services Board

Remuneration: Travel and other reasonable expenses reimbursed

Time and Commitment: 3 x Care Services Board meetings per annum and 4 x Ben Board meetings per annum - held at Head Office (Sunninghill, Ascot) or Coventry.

We are working in partnership with Ben (Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund), an independent charity, to recruit one or more trustees.

Ben's purposes are to provide support for life to the people of the automotive industry and their dependants.  Everyone who works, or has worked, in the automotive industry can access the confidential, free services for themselves and their family dependants.

In addition Ben also provides high quality care for those in later life at excellent care centres or in their own homes and, for the more independent, at Ben’s award-winning retirement village.

Two new trustee boards have been developed to ensure appropriate focus on each of these core objectives (the Health and Wellbeing and the Care Services) which both report to the main charity board. The charity is now seeking trustees to join the Care Services Board and the Main Charity Board.

Ben is therefore seeking to recruit Trustees with interest and experience in residential, nursing and/ or social care services for older people.  An informed understanding of older people's services is appropriate, gained by experience in a range of settings, such as nursing, housing, residential care, homecare, day care and support for older people living in the community.  Trustees will also provide strategic guidance, governance/ oversight and collective leadership for the charity; supporting Ben's CEO and Executive team to fulfil the charity’s purpose ‘support for life’ throughout the period of the 2018 - 2023 plan.

The successful candidate/s will demonstrate:

  • a background in older persons' care, with proven experience, ideally at management level
  • understanding of contemporary residential care and current legislation
  • relevant qualifications and/ or practical experience
  • charity experience desirable, though not essential
  • passion to deliver excellent customer care, making positive differences to people’s lives.

Ben seeks to create strong and lasting bonds with those it helps, those who support Ben and everyone within the organisation.  If you have these qualities and wish to be considered for the position of trustee, please get in touch and forward your CV to info@charismarecruitment.co.uk quoting reference JO1705
