Support Worker
Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
Position: Day Support Worker
Location: West Kent
Contract type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 21 per week
Salary: £9,828 to £10,025 depending on skills and experience
Closing date: 30 October 2019

About the role:
Our Day Support services provide care and support for a person with dementia in a safe and comfortable environment. This service gives users an opportunity to meet and mix with others; it provides stimulation through social contact and meaningful activities, and an opportunity to pursue hobbies and social activities.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our team providing a Day Support Service. You will be required to take responsibility for a caseload of clients; contributing to the development of individual care plans; making appropriate risk assessments and helping people with dementia to achieve their potential and maximise their skills.
About you:

We are looking for an individual with experience within a care environment or similar and an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers. You will need to be someone who knows how to get the best out of people and be able to devise and lead meaningful activities in our Day Support Service. You will need to be able to work well as part of a team and be passionate about improving the quality of life for people living with dementia.
You will have good listening skills and an understanding of dementia, working in a person-centred way to enable people to achieve their potential and maximise their skills. You will be expected to contribute to the development of individual care plans and help make appropriate risk assessments.
You will be provided with induction and training to enable you to carry out your role.
You may have experience of the following: Support Worker, Social Care, Dementia Support Worker, Social Worker, Community Care, Care Assistant, Support Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Care Worker, Mental Health, Dementia, Charity, Charities, NFP, Not for Profit, Third Sector, etc.
