Sexual Violence Advocate

Our client is the UK’s largest provider of specialist services for victims of all forms of gender-based violence (domestic, sexual, so called ‘honour’ violence, trafficking, prostitution, forced marriage, stalking and FGM). Every day they support over 6,500 women and children in their national network of services. These include Independent Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence Advocacy services (IDVAs / ISVAs and IGVAs), community outreach, specialist refuge accommodation, sanctuary services and culturally specific services and the Freephone 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline (run in partnership between our client and Women’s Aid).

They advise Government and lobby hard to keep violence against women and girls high on the public agenda. They run award-winning prevention and public education campaigns, managing a busy press office and website, and they are an accredited training provider. They give a voice to the voiceless.

Position: Independent Sexual Violence Advocate
Location: Thames Valley (Oxfordshire & Berkshire)
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm
Salary: £25,883 to £28,725 per year

About the role:

Our client is recruiting a young person’s sexual violence advocate, working with 18-25-year-old women and men across the Thames Valley with a special focus on reaching out to and supporting the most vulnerable and marginalised.

You will manage a caseload of clients advocating on their behalf in a multi-agency setting, ensuring that all victims of sexual violence and their children may access and navigate the criminal and civil justice systems, health services, housing, and education.

About you:

If you are passionate about ensuring access to justice for victims of sexual violence; assertive; accurate; confident in challenging senior professionals; with a robust understanding of how to best support victims of sexual violence whilst maintaining professional boundaries at all times, then we want to hear from you.
