Financial Controller
Full-time, 37 hours per week
£43,000 per annum

We are recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join our creative and welcoming team. This is an opportunity for a brilliant finance professional to work for a vibrant arts organisation, with responsibility for ensuring high standards of financial management and developing strong financial controls across the organisation.

This is a time of major change for the Trust; we began our transformation project in June 2018 to deliver a £48.8m redevelopment programme. This will see a complete refurbishment of our two main halls and the creation of a new hall and music education centre in the cellars. The Financial Controller will support the ongoing financial management of the business during a challenging transformation. This is the largest arts infrastructure
investment project undertaken in the South West for many years and will deliver state-of- the-art cultural facilities of international standing.

To be successful, you should be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with the ability to lead and inspire a team of finance professionals. A creative thinker with excellent communication skills, you’ll have a positive approach and the enthusiasm and resilience to meet the varied demands of our venue.

We will also need you to have a proven track record working with budget holders to support business effectiveness, and a confident and analytical approach to financial reporting. Experience in the charity/arts sector is desirable but not essential.

This is an exciting time to join us as we work to redevelop both halls in our iconic building, the major refurbishment project will lead to a significant expansion of our business in two years’ time, so this role offers a significant development opportunity for the right candidate looking for a finance role in an arts environment. In return we offer 24 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, a contributory pension scheme, cycle to work scheme and the chance to experience some exceptional music.

Closing date: 9.00am on Monday, 30th September 2019.
