We are working with the Bertha Foundation to help recruit a new Fellowship Coordinator to support a range of fellowship initiatives.

This role will support two areas: The Bertha Challenge and Bertha Justice Initiative.

The Fellowship Coordinator will be responsible for fellowship onboarding, giving ongoing support to fellows from around the world with various economic, social and technological challenges, grantmaking and monitoring and evaluation, and planning and coordinating large fellowship events. You will work in close collaboration with other members of the Bertha team globally located in South Africa, the USA, and the UK.

You should be comfortable working with highly politicised fellows and partner organizations; have experience working with diverse groups; and have excellent organizing and administrative experience and skills.

Key Responsibilities:
-Fellowship management - Oversee implementation of the Fellowship management, support and administrative coordination.
-Continuously improve the way that Fellows are on-boarded and supported
-On-board new fellows, including sending personalized welcome emails, posting orientation packs and hosting regional orientation calls
Be accessible and available to Fellows via email, skype and in-person meetings over the course of their Fellowships.
-Maintain and continuously improve new Fellow orientation materials in all network languages (Arabic, English, French, Spanish)
-Oversee updating and maintenance of Fellows' database
-Support the development of different types of fellows convenings and exchange events.
-Utilise their knowledge base of the Bertha fellowships to co-create or facilitate fellow-led events.
-Assist with logistics planning for all kinds of events and collaboration across the Bertha team.
-Enable Alumni and Fellows to be connected, engage in planning and delivery of Convenings through calls, mobilization of resources and introductions to new Fellows.
-Track the progression of Alumni on an annual basis as a way to maintain contact and to assess program impact.

Skills and Experience required:
-Substantial work experience working in fields of social justice; systems or organisational change environments; or network and alumni programmes.
-Strong administration and organisation skills
-Excellent interpersonal skills, with energy and empathy needed to cultivate relationships and earn trust and respect of stakeholders across countries and cultures.
-An ability to develop and maintain light processes or systems appropriate for a fellowship or comparable programme of work.
-Proven commitment to diversity and inclusion, with experience of working in international environments and across different sectors (legal, journalism, activists etc).
-An ability to work proactively and flexibly, multi-tasking across different areas to tight deadlines.
-Experience of using feedback and learning to support continuous improvement.
-Experience of working in collaboration, partnerships or networks to achieve results.
-Willingness to travel, especially to plan and manage convenings which can take place around the world
