We have an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced and proactive professional to lead our clients Legacy team, as Legacy Manager.
Position: Legacy Manager
Location: Based in Sidmouth, Devon – “an area of outstanding natural beauty”
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £37,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Benefits: Generous annual leave, pension scheme, Healthshield plan, confidential counselling service, subsidised restaurant, free parking, enhanced maternity/paternity benefits, Life Assurance Scheme, 31 day’s holiday per year, inclusive of the 8 statutory public holidays. This increases by one day each year until a maximum of 34 days is reached.

The Role
Due to retirement, a rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive professional to lead our clients Legacy team.
The Legacy Manager duties will include:
- Ensuring the efficient management of legacy administration within the organisation.
- Responsibility for the management of more than 1,000 legacy and bequest cases annually.
- Encouraging and supporting the professional development of the legacy team
- Manage relationships with professional and personal executors, relatives and friends of deceased persons, maintaining effective communication at all times.
- Ensuring records of legacy income, life interest and pipeline legacies are maintained to the highest standards so as to ensure accurate monthly reporting to the Director of Finance and subsequently to the board of Trustees.
- Effectively managing and helping to resolve problem legacy cases.
About You
Possessing a relevant legal and/or charity legacy administration qualification (Solicitor, ILEX, STEP or CiCLA) the Legacy Manager will bring with them:
- An up to date, working knowledge of Probate Law and will construction, Charity Law, Trustees’ Law, the duties of Charity Trustees and legislation relating to charity tax exemptions.
- Experience in a similar office environment.
- The ability to use computerised legacy administration software.
- Excellent management, training and development and communication skills.
