Our client is a London based charity driven and committed to helping homeless and vulnerable people to live in decent homes, build supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives. Their vision is to end street homelessness and work towards this by providing high quality vital services to vulnerable people. They are currently seeking two Lead Outreach Workers to join their new Outreach service in Newham. This is offered on a temporary basis, initially for one month.

As their Lead Outreach Worker, you will provide effective outreach support and will form part of a significant increase in the boroughs complement of services aimed to improve its response to rough sleeping. Newham has some of the highest numbers of rough sleepers in London and as such, you will use your existing knowledge and experience of working with homeless people to influence and provide support to a caseload of clients with complex needs by carrying out assessments, identifying options and devising person centred plans through multi-agency working.

To be successful, you will possess the interpersonal skills and the commitment, patience and perseverance required to work with a case load of  rough sleepers as well as possess the ability to effectively engage with individuals who often lead complex and chaotic lifestyles. This is a senior level support role, and therefore you will have demonstrable experience of working with a joint up approach and understand the benefits of working in partnership with enforcement agencies including the Police and local authority enforcement teams. Finally, you will have the confidence and knowledge to manage volunteers along with strong IT skills and a flexible approach.

To be considered, you must be available to start at the end of September, be in possession of a fully enhanced DBS registered to the online update service, and be able to commit to a rolling rota of early, late and night shifts across a 7 day rota.
