Job Details
Bristol Community Transport is Bristol’s largest community transport operator and a part of UK-wide leading transport social enterprise HCT Group. We help our community to get out and about with a wide range of transport services, improving access to information, services and opportunities in the city as well as reducing social isolation and improving wellbeing.
In 2017/18 BCT provided around 50,000 passenger trips to community group members; more than 22,000 Dial-a-Ride trips for older and disabled people; and more than 10,000 passenger trips for disadvantaged individuals on our community buses.
We are an active participant in local communities, providing links between different community groups and solutions to current and future issues.

Bristol
Unremunerated
We are now seeking a Chair for Bristol Community Transport’s non-executive board of directors. The role of the BCT board is to support the development of the organisation, ensuring it can meet the needs of people in Bristol, and to agree the strategy with the Managing Director (who reports to the board) and with the HCT Group as parent organisation.
The organisation is at a pivotal point and we are looking for a Chair who is able to operate at a strategic level, leading the board in a time of change and growth. Candidates must have the experience to lead the board of directors - ensuring good governance; the acumen to support the Managing Director - enabling BCT to thrive as a social enterprise; the commitment to our values - so that BCT increases its social impact year on year; and strong relationships in Bristol - ensuring we are well placed for opportunities to make a difference.
