Today, 12 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. Our client is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people, and their families, offering them care and support when they need it most. You can be a part of a team helping them live their life to the full.
Position: Social Worker
Location: Cambridge - Addenbrooke's Hospital
Job type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 17.5 hours per week

About the role:
Our client is looking for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to provide support to children diagnosed with cancer and leukaemia and their families. Based at Cambridge - Addenbrooke's Hospital, you will work with patients and their family’s receiving treatment there. Their work is rewarding but also complex and demanding; you will need to be resourceful and resilient. You will work closely with their supportive team, an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and with services in the community.
About you:
As well as current HCPC registration you will have:
- Experience working with children, young people and their families / carers in a social care setting.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Knowledge of child and young people development.
- An understanding of the impact of serious illness for children, young people and families.
- All applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills.
