Director of Marketing, Development and Communications
Newark with travel throughout the UK
£60,000 per annum
Are you motivated to achieve urgent positive change for wildlife, wild places and people’s relationship with the natural world?
Could you lead the Marketing, Development and Communications team of the UK’s largest grassroots environment movement to bring about a Wilder Future?
Our client is looking for an experienced Marketing, Development and Communications professional with an excellent track record in brand development, creative marketing and innovative mass communications. They want to find someone who is determined, enthusiastic, down to earth and friendly to take up a key role within their central charity.
You will be exemplary at relationship management and have had demonstrable fundraising successes under your belt. You will have a real grasp of media and social media and have the ability to lead real change. You will need to share our client’s beliefs, be wholly committed to their aims, and have a real passion for the cause.
You need to have the inner confidence to drive change and to be selfless in the pursuit of the Trust movement’s mission. You need to be highly strategic by nature - someone who easily sees the big picture. You need to have the drive to plan ahead combined with a quick wit to think on your feet.
You will be leading part of a tight and dedicated central team (20 staff as of 01.08.19), with a proportionate budget but also an unmatched depth and breadth of knowledge and expertise to draw on across the Trust movement. You need to be a manager, delegator and facilitator, as well as a leader – and certainly a communicator.
Our client is a grassroots movement of people from a wide range of backgrounds and all walks of life, who share their vision of a Wilder Future. It has more than 800,000 members, 40,000 volunteers, 2,000 staff and 600 trustees. Forty-six independent Trusts work in every part of the UK, on Alderney and the Isle of Man. Together they work on land and sea, from mountain tops to the seabed, from hidden valleys and coves to city streets, to make the world wilder and make nature part of life, for everyone. The movement’s central charity leads the development of the movement and gives it a strong united voice.
For more than a century they have been saving wildlife and wild places, increasing people’s awareness and understanding of the natural world, and deepening people’s relationship with it. They’re helping to make life better – for wildlife, for people and for future generations.
Our client values diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone is able to be themselves and to reach their full potential. They actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and cultures. They believe that a diverse workforce will help them create their vision of ‘people close to nature, with land and seas rich in wildlife.’
