Events Fundraising Officer (Running Events)
Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
Position: Events Fundraising Officer (Running Events)
Location: Flexible across England, Wales and Northern Ireland
Contract type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 per week
Salary: £25,300 to £29,009 depending on skills and experience (plus London allowance of £3,600)
Closing date: 29 August 2019
Interview date: First Interview Monday 2 September 2019, Second Interview w/c 9 September 2019
About the role:
They're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Events Fundraising Officer to join their ambitious Running Events team, which sits as part of the wider Sports Events team.
This role will be responsible for managing a number of high profile third party running events including London Landmarks Half Marathon, Paris Marathon and Great North Run, with possible line management of an Events Fundraising Coordinator.
About you:
They need someone enthusiastic, creative and highly organised to work across a range of events within their successful running events portfolio. You’ll be used to working across a variety of projects and able to prioritise your workload effectively and demonstrate initiative.
You’ll be experienced in organising and marketing events within the charity sector, ideally third-party running events, and providing excellent stewardship to supporters. You will also have experience of managing, inspiring and engaging staff or volunteers and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll be responsible for an income target of around £1million so strong budgeting experience and a proven track record of reaching and exceeding income targets is essential.
