Support Worker 

Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia. 

Position: Dementia Support Worker 
Location: Tower Hamlets, London 
Contract type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 35 per week 
Salary: £19,964 to £20,770 depending on skills and experience (and London allowance of £3,600) 

Closing date: 29 August 2019 
Interview date: TBC 

About the role: 

They are looking for applicants to provide support to people with dementia and their carers helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives. 

The successful applicant will provide information and support in people’s homes and at locations across Tower Hamlets Delivering awareness raising sessions to different sections of the community and health professionals is also an important part of the role. 

About you: 

Good organisation skills are required along with good and non-judgmental communication skills, an understanding of dementia, an understanding of the need for client confidentially and collaborative working and being able to travel independently within the service area. 

You will possess NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) or demonstrable experience. It is desirable that you have experience of working with statutory and voluntary agencies. 

This post works within the team providing support to people from BAME communities and the postholder will be required to be conversant in Sylheti
