Are you a Health Content professional looking to make an impact on the work of the British Heart Foundation?
We're recruiting for a new Head of Health Content to lead and grow our highly capable Health Content function which provides high quality and innovative information services to people affected by heart and circulatory disease and those caring for them.
About the role
You'll build on our award winning patient information and Heart Matters Magazine portfolio, as well as our evidence based best practice portfolio for healthcare professionals, whilst also exploring and testing new, innovative ways of improving our information and supporting our offer in health and care settings.
You'll be a key part of our Senior Management team and will work with colleagues across the BHF, in particular in marketing and communications, as we explore new ways to reach more people, with greater impact, involving more people in their heart and circulatory health and care and in the work of the BHF. Ultimately this will improve health outcomes and help ensure that the BHF strengthens its position as the nation's heart charity.
About you
You'll have a professional qualification in content production, journalism, creative writing or media studies or equivalent experience as well as digital fluency with a contemporary understanding of how the digital environment can be optimised to deliver content.
With demonstrable experience of producing high quality content in a multimedia format for diverse audiences you'll have experience of producing content on a diverse range of subjects despite not having expert knowledge of those subjects (for example content on types cardiovascular disease or medical research).
To succeed in this role you'll have the following skills and experience:
* Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, including with stakeholders at very senior levels
* Strategic analytical skills, able to frame problems and solutions in a logical fashion
* A high degree of empathy and compassion for patient and public issues
* The ability to embrace and deal with ambiguity and complexity and to be open to creativity in leading and bringing about effective change
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team with a wide range of professional backgrounds
