With an exciting new brand and strategy, we have a great opportunity for a media relations specialist to help us broaden our audience and make this new role their own.

Media Relations Lead - Brand
Job Ref: MBL-B
Salary: c. £42,000 plus benefits
Location: London SE1

The countryside is one of the nation’s most valued assets – it’s where many people feel most alive and plays a vital role in improving our mental and physical health, not to mention the climate emergency. CPRE, the countryside charity wants to connect more people with the countryside, to ensure that everyone can benefit. This role is an opportunity to play an important part in achieving that.

As media lead for our new brand you will be responsible for developing and delivering media strategies and plans, and generating coverage in the consumer press and other channels that reflect that brand and tell the stories generated by our work – helping to grow awareness and broaden the appeal of CPRE, the countryside charity.  You will already have experience of developing and delivering media strategies, plans and generating coverage in a consumer context and happy in giving advice and direction to senior staff. We are looking for someone with a real passion and energy for generating media excitement for our new direction, with the ability to work across teams and with colleagues across the CPRE network.

You will be part of the Brand, Communications and Engagement team, reporting to the head of that team, but working closely with communications colleagues across the organisation. However, you will work particularly closely with the Media Lead – Campaigns, with whom you will be responsible for all CPRE’s press coverage, covering each other’s work during any absence.

This is a new role and an opportunity to join a small organisation with great potential at a very exciting time. The successful candidate will have previous experience of leading on media campaigns and good understanding of how brand underpins an organisation. You will have a proven track record in securing national press coverage, possibly in the voluntary sector.

Closing date: Midday Monday 2 September 2019
Interviews: Thursday 19 September 2019
