our client is an organisation that provides a range of housing and varied support services to vulnerable people. Their aim is to support people in achieving their full potential. They are currently going through a large period of growth and have a vacancy for Assistant Project Worker.
Position: Assistant Project Worker
Location: Eastbourne & Newhaven, East Sussex
Job type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 24 hours per week, this includes every other Saturday
Salary: £16,575 to £19,500 pro rata per annum
Benefits: 26 days’ annual holiday rising a day a year for the first 5 years + bank holidays, Life Assurance, Pension scheme and an Employee Health Assistance Programme. Professional development opportunities and flexible working arrangements.
Closing date: 30th August 2019
Interview dates: 6th September 2019
About the role:
This important role involves working closely with young mothers aged 16-25 years to provide support and advice to enable them to develop their parenting skills and achieve independent living and move on into accommodation. This is done via daily running of the 5 bed houses, one to one support sessions and running life skills workshops. Safeguarding is a key element of this role and will involve close partnership working with agencies.
These are exciting opportunities for you to use your experience and knowledge of supported housing and parenting at this service. You will need to be innovative, have the ability to work under pressure and possess the drive, passion and commitment to change lives.
About you:
You should be an excellent communicator with an approachable nature and capable of dealing with young people in a calm and understanding way. You will also need to have the ability to offer support with housing, employment, emotional wellbeing and welfare benefits. Previous experience of working with vulnerable young women and / or babies and children up to the age of 2 is essential.
A Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Certificate will be required for these roles.
