This youth charity is much more than a world class orchestra - it is the leading educator in its artform and one of our most respected and effective organisations in arts and music education.

For more than 50 years, the charity has inspired generations of young people to engage with music and currently runs programmes for over 9,000 young people, across 90 education partnerships, around the UK.

The charity has undergone a huge period of change in recent years with the development of artistic policy, expansion of its education work around the country.

Until now the functions of development and communications have been combined but the charity is looking to appoint a freelance consultant to focus exclusively on fundraising.

The Fundraising Consultant will play a hands-on role with Staff, Music Directors and Trustees to help the charity further increase its national impact.

As a de factor member of the management team, the Fundraising Consultant will be instrumental in shaping the the charity's long- term progress and development.

Demonstrable success developing and delivering fundraising strategies and soliciting major gifts, an in-depth understanding of fundraising for the arts and substantial experience in a similar role are essential.

You will be a skilled communicator and networker with a proactive attitude to creating beneficial partnerships and networks and ensure the charity's voice continues to influence the agenda for UK music education and the wider arts sector.

This is a part-time, flexible, freelance contract reporting to the Executive Chair.
