We are seeking exceptional candidates for the role of Senior Volunteers Manager (based at Tate Britain and Tate Modern). This is a hugely exciting opportunity for a proven volunteers manager to join our team and lead the delivery of a truly world class, inspiring, engaging and inclusive volunteers programme.

Tate aims to be the most artistically adventurous and culturally inclusive global art museum and you will help make this happen by managing and supporting our diverse team of volunteers who give their time and enthusiasm to support us in our work.
In this role you will manage the Volunteers managers and wider team, working alongside the Senior Visitor Experience Managers for Tate Modern and Tate Britain, and offering strategic support for Tate Liverpool and Tate St. Ives. You will be responsible for delivering consistently high standards of visitor experience through our team of over 400 volunteers, working to further enrich the offer on our sites through our programme of volunteer led talks and tours, our welcome hosts, and wider support across the organisation in diverse roles from family activities, archives, libraries, gardens, Tate Exchange and more!

You will bring a range of experience having managed and worked with volunteers in a visitor facing environment. You will have outstanding people skills, and a proven understanding of what it takes to ensure the volunteer role is fulfilling and rewarding for both our volunteers themselves and the visitors and staff they meet. You will be highly organised, clear thinking and able to balance multiple demands from a diverse range of stakeholders. An experienced people manager, you will be comfortable working collaboratively with colleagues across Tate’s varied sites and with multiple teams.

This is a real chance to join at a time when we are seeking to diversify and further enhance our volunteer programmes.
