Senior Support Worker 

Our client is a national charity that’s been supporting people with learning disabilities since 1962. They put the people they support at the centre of everything they do and use their experience to work in partnership with them to provide personalised services to more than 3,000 people. 

Position: Senior Support Worker 
Location: Bishop's Stortford & Much Hadham 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: Up to £20,999 per annum (depending on probation & qualification)

They are looking to recruit a Community Senior Support Worker to join the teams in the Bishop's Stortford and Much Hadham areas. 

As a Community Senior Support worker you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. You will be a role model to others through demonstrating excellent support to those they support and you will help the registered cluster managers to coach, support and manage staff teams effectively. You will be responsible for nurturing and inspiring those coming to work to help ensure they have the best staff teams offering great support services. This role also offers great opportunities for career progression to help you develop your knowledge and skills. 

The purpose of your role is to give the highest possible standards of support to individuals with moderate to severe learning disabilities, in all aspects of their daily lives. 

You will help us ensure your service is:

Hours: 

As a community senior support worker, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. This is a full-time role and you will be required to work on a flexible rota pattern, to include a combination of early and late shifts and every other weekend and including occasional sleep-ins. Candidates must be available to work Fridays. 

About you: 

You need good IT skills and experience of maintaining records to be a success in this role. You also need to be willing to work towards a Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 3 (or equivalent). But above all, if you have the passion for delivering high quality care and support services to people with learning disabilities and you want to make a difference to enable people to live a more fulfilling and independent life – then this is the role for you. 

Ideally you will hold a full UK / EU driving licence, as you will be required to travel between services in a timely manner. This may include traveling from Ugley to Much Hadham within the same hour.
