They are looking for an energetic and determined senior press officer to be part of our their Charity’s busy and ambitious Communications team. You will manage relationships with journalists across print, digital and broadcast media, and collaborate closely with teams across the charity. About the team:
Our clients Charity Communications team is a high achieving, fast-paced team. Reporting to the Head of Communications, the Senior Press Officer is part of a team of six, comprising of a four-strong press office function, a Family and Hospital Liaison Manager and Internal Comms Manager. The senior press officer has line management responsibility for one of the press officers in the team.
You will be passionate about telling powerful stories that move people to take action and will feel inspired by the opportunity to play a key role in publicising a range of fundraising campaigns. A natural relationship builder, you’ll excel at pitching to journalists, supporting case studies and building a rapport with your colleagues. You’ll understand how good communications can help the charity achieve its goals, will be keen to evaluate your impact, and will show a keen interest in helping colleagues develop their careers.
Specifically you will have:
- Proven experience in delivering high profile and effective proactive PR campaigns, and of responding to reactive media enquiries.
- In-depth knowledge of PR strategy and tactics.
- Experience of working with senior external stakeholders or donors.
- Experience of fundraising PR particularly of high value corporate partnerships and red-carpet special events.
- Experience and competency in using social media to engage key stakeholders.
- Experience of issues and crisis management.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- The ideal candidate will also have Experience of managing and developing colleagues.
