Senior Researcher (Parliamentary Affairs) 

Created as a business solution to a social problem, Our client was founded in 1991 to provide vulnerably housed people with a legal way to earn money. Our clients vendors buy the magazine for £1.25 and sell it for £2.50, earning £1.25 for each copy that they sell. 

Position: Senior Researcher (Lord Bird Office) 
Location: Westminster / Finsbury Park 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 35 hours per week 
Salary: Upon Application

About the role: 

The founder of our client  and Crossbench peer, is looking for a full-time, senior parliamentary researcher to further his and the Group mission of dismantling poverty by creating opportunity. 

Responsibilities: 

- Leading on policy development, research and briefing across a range of issues centred on poverty prevention and protecting the interests of future generations. 
- Supporting the management of the parliamentary office, including overseeing other members of staff and liaising with colleagues in the group. 
- Supporting the planning, coordination and execution of campaigns, events and conferences. 
- Assisting with administrative duties, including social media, correspondence and diary management. 

About you: 

The successful candidate will have experience of working in the UK Parliament, ideally in an MP’s or peer’s office, with an ability to cover a range of policy areas. They will require the confidence to effectively develop and communicate complex research and policy outcomes to a range of audiences, and an ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic work environment.
