Chief Technical Officer

Harris Hill is excited to be working with Apolitical in its search for a Chief Technical Officer.

Apolitical is a leading global technology start up accelerating the transformation of government by helping public servants find the policies, peers and partners they need to tackle the world's biggest problems. After launching in 2017, Apolitical spans over 170 countries, with users including public servants, policymakers and politicians and members ranging from mayors, ministers and heads of state to millennials pioneering digital innovations.

As CTO, you'll have:

• 10+ years of experience building full stack web applications
• A desire to pair and mentor, with an understanding that work is always delivered as a team
• Strong product instincts and an interest in understanding Apolitical's users
• Sense of ownership, with proof that you can oversee the end-to-end delivery of features
• A polyglot mentality and experience working with a range of languages and frameworks
• A strong grounding in any of NodeJS, React, PHP or Rust are particularly important
• Ability to build design and build new containerized microservices Kubernetes is favoured
• Experience with data and machine learning Python a plus
• Experience in Cloud Platforms, GCP a plus
• Keen sense of responsibility for the platform's security and user's trust
• Demonstrated commitment to quality of execution alongside speed of iteration

Not essential but desirable:

• Contributions to the open source community Apolitical serves its community and supports its engineers to serve theirs
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Start-up experience especially at product driven companies
