Service Manager (Charity) 

Our client, together with its subsidiary, a Community Interest Company, work across England and Wales to develop and deliver a range of innovative services, providing practical and emotional support to prisoners’ children and families, to prisoners, and to people with convictions. Position: Family Services Manager 
Location: HMP Coldingley - Woking, Surrey (or another suitable site in the region) 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £32,500 gross per annum

About the role: 

As Family Services Manager, you will oversee the development and delivery of our client’s family services in prisons across the South East (currently these locations are HMP High Down, HMP Coldingley, HMP Huntercombe and three female prisons; HMP Downview, HMP Send & HMP East Sutton Park). These services are wide ranging and include services for visitors, specialist play provision and family casework. 

You will provide leadership and energy to your team ensuring consistent high quality delivery, providing supportive management to direct line reports and working jointly with delivery partners and internal and external stakeholders to deliver and develop their approach. 

About you: 

To be successful in this role you will be capable of building and developing a team and achieving high performance. You will have experience of running services for offenders and / or their families in prison or in the community ideally including some or all of the following; supervised play, mentoring, groupwork delivery and case management servcies. 

In addition you will have knowledge and understanding of the links between desistance (from offending) and family dynamics / inter-personal relationships. You will also have knowledge of safeguarding / child protection practice and possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding work load. 

Furthermore you will have excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in partnership with a range of agencies. You will be effective in the use of ICT including databases for the recording of course attendance, statistics and outcomes measurement.

Other information: 

The post-holder must own a car suitable for business use (insurance provided) and hold a clean UK Driving Licence. This role requires frequent travel, including regular overnight stays (expenses paid). 

This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, verification of identity and proven right to work in the UK, satisfactory HMPPS / MoJ Security Vetting and satisfactory employer references covering a minimum of 3 years.
