Project Worker (Charity / Learning Disability)

We arrange social events around Leeds and provide staff support and door-to-door transport for all events. These can be meals out, pub trips, cinema trips, theatre nights, bowling, snooker or any other social activity that our members enjoy.

Members are invited to attend several events each month to catch up with their old friends.

Position: Project Worker
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £8.38 per hour rising to £8.55 on completion of probation; rising further to £8.75 on gaining a Health & Social Care Diploma / NVQ Level 2

About the role:

This role support adults with learning disabilities to participate in community based activities and on nights out with their friends.

Daytime activities may include walking, cycling, crafts, drama groups, coffee mornings, volunteer placements, conservation work and anything else our members are interested in trying.

Evening activities may include going out to bowling, cinema, visiting restaurants, pubs, theatre, playing snooker and any other social activities our members may enjoy.

About you:

You don't need experience of support work or any special qualifications for this job - you'll get plenty of training along the way. What matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people to live their life with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible.

We support people to travel to and from the activities and events, so a full, current EU / UK driving licence and willingness to drive our vehicles, as and when required is an essential.
