Location:  London SE1

We are working in partnership with Age UK Lewisham & Southwark, a charity that aims to improve the lives of older people by providing services and support that address poverty and isolation.  The charity also promotes health and wellbeing and actively connects older people with their communities. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the organisation going forward and to further develop the support available to older people in this part of South London. This is a well established local organisation, continuously innovating and promoting the interests of older people.  The charity is now seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer who can build on the success and further strengthen the charity.  The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Senior leadership experience in public or not for profit setting with a diverse staff group
  • Proven track record of managing change and building organisational resilience
  • Successful experience in income generation and fundraising as well as managing budgets
  • Experience of working in partnership with multiple voluntary/ statutory organisations
  • Ability to lead local voluntary sector consortia to deliver quality services, addressing any issues that may arise regarding performance and delivery
  • Excellent understanding of key challenges facing the local voluntary sector and the value of diversity.
