Job Details

An NHS Foundation Trust located in a central London hospital.

Description

You will be working across all communications channels, both internally and externally, ensuring a coordinated approach across the Trust. This will include:

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the media and clinicians
  • Develop the overall communications strategy of the organisation
  • Generate story and campaign ideas aimed to gain positive national media coverage
  • Work and lead when appropriate on national broadcaster projects
  • Leveraging opportunities to improve the public profile of the organisation
  • Ensuring all staff, Trust leaders and spokespeople are briefed and trained on media policy
  • Manage the organisation's social media accounts
  • Ensure all communications are delivered in line with the organisation strategy
  • Maintain and update the corporate communications strategy
  • To line manage the communications team

Profile

You will be a leader in media relations and reputation management who thrives when managing high profile media opportunities. You will be a communications all-rounder who has worked on media, corporate, clinician, stakeholder and internal communications within a NHS organisation.

In addition you should:

  • Have at least 5 years' experience at a senior level dealing with national press and broadcast media
  • Be able to demonstrate your ability to gain national media coverage on previous communications campaigns
  • Have great experience promoting organisations
  • Be a leader on communications and public policy and have experience advising staff members up to board level
  • Have extensive national press and broadcaster media contacts
  • Be able to deal with queries from the press and recognise risks and challenges posed from FOI requests
  • Have significant line management experience
  • Have an understanding of the NHS hierarchy and stakeholders

Job Offer

This is a full time role with an 8B band salary up to £67,000 per annum.
