Fundraising Officer (Major Donor)

Position: Major Donor Officer 
Location: Winchester, Hampshire (commutable from Southampton, Andover, Basingstoke & surrounding areas) 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 35 hours per week 
Salary: £28,000 per annum, depending on experience 
Benefits: 23 days holiday per annum (plus bank holidays), increasing to 25 days after five years’ service. In addition we provide training and continuing personal development and a free DBS check. 

About the role: 

The Brendoncare Foundation seeks a Major Donor Officer to join our Philanthropy team in raising significant gifts to transform the lives of the older people we support. Reporting to the Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, the Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with major donors and donor prospects, resulting in major gifts for our organisation’s work. The ideal candidate will have experience of building relationships with Major Donors and identifying new donor opportunities, as well as achieving five figure gifts. 

This is an exciting time to join Brendoncare’s Philanthropy team, where our Major Donor programme is in its early development stage following a successful capital appeal. This role has been created to invest in our Major Donor programme, following strong results in this stream in the last few years. 

About you: 

The Major Donor Officer will inherit a small but successful major gifts portfolio with very strong opportunities for future growth. You will have the opportunity to work with the Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager in developing and implementing our Major Donor strategy and build up your own portfolio. 

This role is a full-time position of 35 hours a week (although part-time considered) based at Brendoncare’s central office in Winchester. You will also have plenty of opportunities to visit our homes and clubs across the south of England as part of the role.
