Prospectus is working with a small charity, which promotes the use of 'safe havens' - places where young people can turn to if they feel they are in danger. Shops and businesses display a sticker that promises protection and builds a safer community on local high streets.

The Role

This is an opportunity to lead a well-respected youth and community charity through a process of strategy change and restructuring. It will involve overseeing continued programme delivery in line with funding commitments, ensuring effective day-to-day operations, managing cash flow, and modelling potential future scenarios. You will have the support of pro bono legal support as well as an external facilitator who will liaise between Trustees, Founders and yourself to determine the future direction of the organisation in line with the fulfilment of charitable objects and pursuit of public interest.

Currently reduced staff team of 5 paid employees, three consultants and a pool of sessional workers.

This is an interim post.

The Person

- Work closely with Chair of Trustees to set strategic and operational direction, providing timely information for decision-making

- Manage and retain staff through a period of organisational change

- Oversee day-to-day financial management and scenario planning

- Manage a small youth and community programme delivery team to deliver against funding commitments, possibly recruiting additional staff and overseeing programme content development

- Maintain effective working relationships with trusts and foundations, corporate donors, delivery partners and community volunteers

- Work in an agile manner, regularly re-prioritising team workload in line with the evolving process of the restructure

- Manage internal communication with staff team in the context of change management

- Manage effective relationships with Founders
