Prospectus is proud to be working with a leading national health trust to recruit a Business Development Manager (Service Development) to play a key role in planning and development for their frontline service offer. This position is offered on a permanent contract, for 30 hours a week and with the possibility of flexible working arrangements. It is to be based near North London on NHS Band 6, £36,481 to £44,044 depending on experience.

This role requires an innovative service development focused approach with someone who can proactively identify and analyse opportunities, apply robust understanding of commercial techniques and form outstanding relationships with key stakeholders both internally and across the broader UK health environment. The position gives the post holder an exciting opportunity to work across the organisation to undertake business planning for opportunities that have been identified through the Trust's strategic objectives or Business Development Strategy.

In this role, you will create new income streams outside of a formal tender process, by working with service line directors, portfolio managers and clinical, education and training leads to identify appropriate opportunities to expand their clinical, education and training services. This will, in part, be achieved by managing internal and external stakeholders, building excellent relationships across directorates and service lines (internally) and with commissioners, potential commissioners and other Trust-wide stakeholders including potential partners (externally).

The right candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and ideally some exposure to the mental health sector and/or wider NHS. Important attributes in the successful candidate would also be commercial experience, experience of identifying and evaluating new market opportunities and developing, writing and presenting business cases for internal decision-making.
