The organisation's work focusses on four key areas; promoting excellence, developing talent, influencing research and policy, and engaging patients, medical professionals and the public in the medical science arena.

The organisation is looking to develop and promote its services further and it has identified data management and its approach to technology as key areas to assist them in achieving their goals. Consequently, we are working together to recruit this newly created role of Data Innovation Manager.

The Role

This vital new role will be responsible for making sure that the Academy's databases deliver optimal business benefits across the organisation and provide a firm foundation for supporting not only existing needs, but importantly preparing the way forward for achieving strategic development goals. This role will also lead on embedding a positive culture across the Academy in its approach and grasp of data management and innovation in order to enable the organisation to stay ahead of the game in terms of data collation, usage, integrity, compliance and security. Leading from the front, this role will champion an innovative and creative approach to data management and will enthuse users both internally and externally to improve and educate themselves on the latest developments in this field.

The Person

Experience and skills to include:

A high level of intellectual capacity & analytical by nature, possibly evidenced through a related Degree, professional qualification or by substantial experience of having worked in a senior Data Management role of similar complexity.

Broad, demonstrated experience of CRM Systems management (ideally ThankQ or similar)

A knowledge of Microsoft SQL Servers, GDPR principles, HTML, information management and cloud-based technology will be beneficial.

Creative, decisive and collaborative with demonstrated experience of leading on transformational, strategic technology driven projects.

This person will be academically bright with an intellectual curiosity and a deep interest and enjoyment of technology and data management.

Able to inspire, encourage and communicate in a compelling manner with a wide range of audiences both internally and externally with varying levels of interest and abilities around technology.

An excellent eye for detail and the ability to see the bigger picture with an appreciation of how this important role fits in to the wider ambitious strategic objectives of the organization.

This person will ideally have an appreciation of the importance of medical science and research in improving standards across the UK and the resulting benefits to society.
