Founded in 1903, Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is the world’s longest established international conservation organisation. Our vision is to create a sustainable future for the planet where biodiversity is conserved by the people living closest to it. We aim to do this through the conservation of threatened species and ecosystems worldwide, choosing solutions that are sustainable, based on sound science and take account of human needs. We have become a trusted entity in the world of conservation. Today FFI is active in over 40 countries.

As a social media professional, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to use your skills and experience to help tackle what is arguably the most pressing threat to our planet’s future. In line with FFI’s new Business Plan, we have developed a complementary communications strategy that aims to boost our profile and influence amongst our target audiences, and we see effective use of social media as vital for success.

We are looking for someone with the vision and experience to drive our social media strategy forward, identifying and harnessing new opportunities to grow our audience and achieve meaningful engagement with followers. You will also be responsible for managing our channels on a day to day basis, and for developing rich content to help us achieve our goals for each channel. You will have a good understanding of how social media intersects with other communications disciplines (such as PR and website management), as well as the role it plays in digital fundraising.

We are looking for a team player who will thrive in a busy, fast-paced and changeable environment, who is willing to pitch in and support colleagues when needed but who can also use their experience to remain strategically focused and spot those opportunities that offer the most potential to achieve our goals.

Our offices are located in The David Attenborough Building in central Cambridge, just a few minutes’ walk from glorious historic buildings and museums, the picturesque River Cam, the central market and shopping centre, and a host of cafés and restaurants.

The closing date for applications is Sunday, 4 August 2019.
