The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service. With our lifeboats, lifeguards, safety advice and flood rescue, we are committed to saving lives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the RNLI’s Trusts & Grants Team as the Senior Trusts & Grants Manager, with the responsibility for generating financial gifts from charitable trusts and foundations.

Your Role

As Senior Trusts & Grants Manager your primary purpose will be to maintain and grow income by leading an established team of fundraisers to identify new opportunities, make compelling asks and deliver outstanding stewardship.

You will work alongside the Senior Philanthropy Manager, as well as fundraising teams, volunteers and colleagues from throughout the organisation. You may be required to travel to meet key stakeholders and donors on an adhoc basis.

Other organisations may call this role: Trust Fundraising Manager, Grants Fundraising Manager, Fundraising Manager, Business Development Manager, Account Manager, Senior Trust & Grants Officer, Grants Officer, Major Giving Manager, High Value Giving.

About You

Our ideal Senior Trusts and Grants Manager will be an excellent communicator, capable of building and maintaining strong personal relationships with a wide range of individuals, from inside and outwith the organisation. You will have demonstrable experience of trusts and grants fundraising, with a creative mindset and passion for exploring new opportunities.

As the leader of this team, you will bring experience of line managing staff and building and maintaining high performing people. You will give the team clear direction and be comfortable with ambitious income targets. Strong financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting skills are essential.
