Housing Support Administrator

The Centre was founded in 1986; we offer a diverse range of services for homeless young people, families in need and the local community on one site. The Centre enables people to gain the skills and support they need to overcome poverty and homelessness. We have a person-focused approach which encourages us to recognise that each human being is different with complex needs and so our response needs to be multi-layered.

Position: Housing Support Administrator
Location: Westminster, London
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours in a 40 hour week
Salary: £24,000 per annum
Benefits: Holidays 24 days, rising to 26 after one year’s service, and 28 after two years’ service, Pension, A Season Ticket Loan is available

Responsibilities:

You will provide full administrational support to the Centre by ensuring the accurate complementation of tasks such as answering telephone calls, dealing with the post, managing petty cash, processing purchase orders and invoices as well a minute taking. You will ensure the office is always kept tidy and fully stocked of any needed stationary supplies.

You will be responsible for processing voids in line with housing management procedures to ensure all rooms are cleared and habitable as soon as possible and create weekly voids / waiting lists for the management team.

You will help support the management of the hostel by ensuring rotas are kept up to date and logging any maintenance issues on Jamm as well as accompanying maintenance workers / contractors to carry out repairs on client’s rooms.

You will follow and work in line with the Centres Health and Safety policies and report any concerns or ideas for improvements.

On occasion you may be asked to help to support other teams such as fundraising.

Essential Criteria:

You will have an empathy when working with vulnerable people aged between 16 – 24 with complex needs. Strong administration skills accompanied with excellent customer service is needed along with a good level of numeracy and experience with handing financial records such as petty cash and weekly charges.

Excellent communication skills are essential in both verbal and written English.

You will be IT literate with the ability to use databases and Microsoft office. Along with the commitment to work as part of a team you will also need flexibility to on occasion work outside of hours as well as being able to work shift patterns which include weekends and bank holidays.
