Based in Aylesbury, Karibuni Children is a charity which relieves childhood poverty in Kenya through the support and education of the most deprived children from age 3 through to adulthood. This transforms the lives of these children and ultimately their families who live in the slums of Nairobi and poor rural communities.
Having been established for 24 years, Karibuni now supports over 1200 children and students at any one time. It has a strong track record of success.
Virtually all the money we raise in the UK is used to support our various projects in Kenya as all of our activities are Trustee led with support from an Office Manager and a small team of Volunteers.
Currently our funding comes mainly from individuals and church groups with a smaller contribution coming from grant making trusts and foundations. We wish to expand our activities in this latter area and seek to recruit an experienced Trusts Fundraiser to develop the relationships already in place and identify and develop new ones.
We are looking for a Trusts Fundraiser with a proven track record to join our small team in Aylesbury. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to write compelling appeals as well as reporting directly to donors on current projects. You will work closely with Trustees and existing staff to keep up to date with the progress of projects and funding needs.
We offer an excellent salary package with flexible working hours together with the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated individuals to transform the lives not only of children but those of their families and communities in Kenya. An opportunity to see our work in progress could also be involved.
You would be based at our office in Aylesbury, but some working from home part time may also be possible.
