Reporting to the Head of People and Development, you will lead the Internal Communications and Engagement team, whose mission is to ensure colleagues feel connected to their vital and life changing work and have the information they need to do their jobs effectively. This position is to cover a period of maternity leave for 12 months. 

You will actively ensure their internal communications channels are managed effectively and will play a key role in the planning and scheduling of content that has been proposed and/or requested, managing expectations and acting as a 'gate-keeper' for all internal communications. You will ensure that colleagues are up to date with any changes to processes, procedures and ways of working while embedding them across teams. You will also provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues in how to optimise their messages when delivering internally. Additionally, you will support senior managers in maintaining high levels of engagement across directorates both in London and in regional and national offices.    
We are seeking an inspiring professional who has demonstrable experience leading an internal communications function with both passion, creativity, and importantly, pragmatism; therefore a background succeeding within a similar role is key. You will be adept at building credibility quickly, displaying both resilience in dealing with ambiguity while also confidently building relationships both internally and externally. Importantly, you will have previously line managed a team and will relish this side of a position. Finally, you will be comfortable working on strategic projects and also in a 'hands on' capacity when required!
