A world-class drama school and educational charity, LAMDA – the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art – delivers exceptional vocational training in the performing arts. The Academy’s alumni include world-class actors such as Benedict Cumberbatch, David Oyelowo, Ruth Wilson, John Lithgow, David Suchet CBE, Maureen Lipman, Jim Broadbent, Rory Kinnear and many more.

LAMDA’s core aim is to train the best artists, regardless of social or financial background. In order to ensure that its work is accessible to all, LAMDA operates a robust scholarship scheme, awarding significant support to one in five full-time students each year.

The Role
LAMDA trains and nurtures the performers, technicians, film and theatre-makers of tomorrow. Through this work, we aim to impact the future industry by fully representing the world we live in. We do this through fundraising to increase access to our training, which includes securing Scholarships & Bursaries, project funding for our Pathways Programme, and other exciting programmes such as New Writing and Entrepreneurship. We are delighted to have supported opportunities for people such as John Lithgow, Samuel Barnett, Charles Babalola, Rory Kinnear, Katherine Parkinson, Sam Claflin, and Kayla Meikle through our Scholarships & Bursaries Programme, as well as many more who are yet to become household names. Please join our efforts in securing the charitable gifts that enable the next generation of artists to lead a stronger and more diverse industry of the future.

The Trusts and Foundations Manager leads LAMDA’s fundraising from charitable trusts and foundations, and other grant-giving sources, for all areas of our work (with the exception of dedicated academic research funding) with a special focus on Scholarships & Bursaries. The role works with the Director of Development & Alumni Relations and the Deputy Director of Development to manage all existing relationships with grant-givers across the Academy and to identify and make approaches to prospective new supporters.

The Trusts and Foundations Manager is responsible for maximising LAMDA’s income from grants, ensuring all reporting and other obligations are met, and recording grants and relationships appropriately. The role will develop strong relationships not just with grant funders, but also with colleagues and scholarship recipients across the School, ensuring that our approaches and reporting to our existing and potential funders is comprehensive, compelling and joined-up.

The Trusts and Foundations Manager is responsible for line-managing the Development Assistant and will work closely with the Individual Giving and Events Officer.

With a proven track record in securing support from trusts and foundations, you will have good project management and excellent writing skills. You will have a good eye for detail and will be highly organised.

We especially welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, and those with disabilities, as these groups are under-represented at all levels in the LAMDA staff.
