A world-class drama school and educational charity, LAMDA – the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art – delivers exceptional vocational training in the performing arts. The Academy’s alumni include world-class actors such as Benedict Cumberbatch, David Oyelowo, Ruth Wilson, John Lithgow, David Suchet CBE, Maureen Lipman, Jim Broadbent, Rory Kinnear and many more.

LAMDA’s core aim is to train the best artists, regardless of social or financial background. In order to ensure that its work is accessible to all, LAMDA operates a robust scholarship scheme, awarding significant support to one in five full-time students each year.

The Role
The Development and Alumni department has a vital role in supporting ongoing excellence in training and securing funding to ensure we increase diversity in our student body and long-term in the industry. The department also develops the alumni network.

This role is an exciting and busy one, working predominantly with LAMDA’s individual donors, who range from local neighbours who donate regularly and have us in their will to major donors who supported our capital build and continue to donate to projects, scholarships and training excellence.

It is a varied, busy and creative post, working closely with the Director of Development and Alumni Relations to support the cultivation, engagement and stewardship of individual donors and develop opportunities for our alumni to engage with events and our supporters.

The post holder will have excellent individual giving fundraising skills with a warm and confident nature.  With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be highly organised and have a good eye for detail. Furthermore, you will have good project management skills.

We especially welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, and those with disabilities, as these groups are under-represented at all levels in the LAMDA staff.
