Job Details
Our client is an innovative drug and alcohol charity who are committed to helping those who are affected by substance misuse. Providing support services across the UK, they believe with the right support people can make long-lasting transformations in their lives to improve health, wellbeing and social integration. They are seeking a temporary Employment Specialist to support their service users into paid and sustainable employment in the Bi-Borough. This is offered at 30 hours per week, for a duration of up to two months whilst they recruit permanently.
As their Employment Specialist, you will provide an employability service that supports unemployed people with current or past drug and alcohol issues to achieve paid, competitive employment in a fulfilling, sustainable way by deploying the evidence based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model. Supporting an active caseload of up to 25 service users, you will support clients through their journey to employment by building social connections and support networks, assisting them to become financially independent as well as supporting them to improve their general health and wellbeing.
To be successful, you will have significant knowledge and experience of developing and supporting people into mainstream employment through providing an in depth, person centred employability service. In addition, you will also possess the ability to work effectively with people with substance misuse problems along with experience of multi-agency liaison including support professionals and employer engagement. Finally, knowledge and/or experience of the IPS model is ideal, as is an NVQ Level 2/3 in advice and guidance.
To be considered, you must be available immediately and be in possession of a fully enhanced DBS check (Adults) that is registered to the online update service.
