Trustee Role (With Senior Management, Charity Experience)

CoppaFeel! is currently seeking a new trustee to join our board of Trustees. Could it be you?

Are you someone with bags of experience in running a charity at a senior management level? Are you looking for a volunteer role where your years of honed skills and knowledge can provide guidance to one of the boldest charities in the UK? If the answer is yes, then we want to hear from you.

At CoppaFeel! We pride ourselves in doing things differently. Since 2009, we’ve challenged sector norms, saved lives and driven policy change for cancer education in the UK.

All of this from a team of just 15 inspirational and dedicated staff supported by a brave and involved board. This year we’re celebrating 10 years of talking about boobs and changing lives and there are some big things on the horizon at Boob HQ. As we enter this exciting new era, we’re reaching out to the charity world to find the right person that can bring intrinsic knowledge of the risks and opportunities of the sector.

Our existing board has a diverse range of knowledge that has played a pivotal role in shaping the charity’s success since day once. Trustee roles at CoppaFeel! are incredibly rewarding with clear tangible impact that stems from decisions made at the board and ongoing interaction with the team.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic highly experienced new trustee that’s ready to help us realise our ambitions. The following are highly desired skills for this role:

• Minimum 5 years at CEO or senior management level of a UK charity

• A solid understanding of good governance and risk management.

• Experience leading an organisation with a fundraising model.

• An intuitive eye to spot opportunities and challenges for a growing charity.

• Prepared to ​provide ad-hoc advice to the Chair, the Board and the Chief Executive on specific

  topics relevant to their skills and knowledge.

• A strategic thinker and ready to support and shape the strategic direction of the charity.

• A network of contacts to support a young and ambitious team.

•  Ready to commit min 4 days a year to making real change happen with CoppaFeel! Within thisyou will need to make trustee meetings in London 4 times a year.

• Experience in a youth targeted awareness charity would be considered a big bonus.

To be a CoppaFeel! Trustee you must be:
Passionate about the breast cancer awareness cause and CoppaFeel!’s role in the sector.
Ready to hero the aims and values of the Charity.
Prepared to take brave decisions in line with the Charity’s ethos to challenge sector norms. Demonstrate honesty and integrity in their role as a trustee.
Feel a strong commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Be a great team player that enjoys a good debate. They are a good listener, open to others’ views and welcomes feedback on own contribution.

ABOUT COPPAFEEL!

CoppaFeel! exists to educate and remind every young person in the UK that checking their boobs could save their life. We are the first breast cancer charity in the UK to tailor a message to speak to and engage young people and instil healthy checking habits, early in life.

CoppaFeel! is a very special organisation and one that has proven to change behaviour, and ultimately save lives. The charity was set up in 2009 by it’s founder Kris Hallenga and since then has grown into a boob education machine. It is our mission to stamp out the late detection of breast cancer and we will do that by educating young people up and down the country through ambassador schemes such as The Boobettes, infiltrating uni campuses, setting up boob camp at festivals, hijacking national media spaces and growing a strong online platform. We provide a free and very simple message: Check your boobs now, as it may save your life one day.
