Position: Dementia Support Worker
Location: Newport, Gwent
Contract type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 21 per week

About the role:
Our client is looking for an exceptional individual to join their Dementia Support team. You will be part of their exciting new support service in Wales called “Dementia Connect”. You will provide support and guidance to people with dementia and their carers across Newport, helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them more in control of their lives. The service is unique to each service user as it is based upon their personal circumstances and support needs.
About you:
They are looking for an enthusiastic individual who possess NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those affected by dementia. An ability to assess the service user needs along with an understanding of the importance of confidentiality is essential. To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills and this role requires regular use of IT packages, therefore a good standard of IT would be desirable. You will be responsible for your own caseload therefore the ability to manage your own time effectively is essential. Your caseload will be varied so they are looking for someone with the right mix of enthusiasm, professionalism and flexibility who is able and willing to work in a variety of settings.
