Position: Press Officer 
Location: Central London, WC1N 
Job type: Full Time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £Competitive

They are looking for a creative press officer to be part of our client’s Charity’s busy and ambitious Communications team. The role will work with journalists across print, digital and broadcast media, and collaborate closely with teams across the charity. They can offer brilliant opportunities to deliver forward-thinking media and communications coverage within an inspiring and stimulating professional environment. 

About the team: 

Our clients Communications team is a high achieving, fast-paced team. Reporting to a Senior Press Officer, the Press Officer is part of a team of six, comprising of a four-strong press office function, a Family and Hospital Liaison Manager and Internal Comms Manager. 

About you: 

You will be passionate about telling powerful stories that move people to take an action and will feel inspired by the opportunity to play a key role in publicising a range of fundraising campaigns. A natural relationship builder, you’ll excel at pitching to journalists, supporting case studies and building a rapport with your colleagues. 

Specifically you will have: 

- Proven experience in delivering high profile and effective proactive PR campaigns, and of responding to reactive media enquiries. 
- In-depth knowledge of PR strategy and tactics. 
- Experience of working with senior external stakeholders or donors. 
- Experience in using social media to engage key stakeholders. 
- Ability to manage competing priorities and ability to work in a busy team to tight deadlines. 
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
- The ideal candidate will also have: Experience of fundraising PR particularly of high value corporate partnerships and red-carpet special events.
