Harris Hill is pleased to be working with an ambitious medical charity in West Sussex who are looking for a driven Head of Events to galvanize their team.

Events fundraising is central to the fundraising success of this organisation, with a focus on challenge and bespoke events. The successful candidate will drive and deliver the events programme with the aim of achieving ambitious income targets. You will also be leading the development of the events programme and of new related partnerships.

Key Responsibilities Include:

-Leading on the strategy, management and development of the overall Events Fundraising programme.

-Personal responsibility for the delivery of specific events within the wider portfolio

-Line management of 4 to maximise the profitability of events delegating, motivating and training team and monitoring performance.

-Producing annual plans and budgets, reviewing income and expenditure for the programme and ensuring it keeps in line with agreed targets

-Researching and identifying new events to be added to the portfolio

-Identifying opportunities for cross-selling where supporters, participants and their contacts can be encouraged to support the charity across other fundraising disciplines.

-On the day participation at UK and international events including being on call at times in the event of an emergency

Skills and Experience Required:

-Previous challenge events management in a fundraising/income generation setting

-Experience of developing strategic and annual plans, budget planning and management

-Strong organisational and time management skills, able to prioritise tasks and handle conflicting deadlines

-Previous line management experience essential. Prior performance monitoring, objective setting and delegation involvement.

-Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, including delivering confident presentations

-Able to build strong relationships using interpersonal skills

-Good IT skills Microsoft applications, Google Docs and database management and analysis

-Flexible able to attend and participate in UK and overseas events occasional long stays, weekends and evenings required
