Apprentice Support Worker 

Come and join our clients friendly team in Bedfordshire and you'll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. 

Position: Apprentice Support Worker 
Location: Clifton, Bedfordshire 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: Full Time, (37.5 hours), part time (30 or 22.5 hours) and relief hours available at this service. Shifts are usually on a 7.5-hour basis and include a combination of early starts from 7 / 7:30am – 14:30 / 15:00 and later shifts starting from 2 / 3pm – 21:30 / 2200. The role includes working every other weekend on a rota basis. 
Salary: £8.55 per hour rising to £8.75 on completion of probation; rising further to £9.00 on gaining a Health & Social Care Diploma / NVQ Level 2

About the role: 

Our client currently have exciting opportunities available for Support Workers to join their supported living and residential services based in Clifton, Bedfordshire. Both services are located on the same site and they are looking for friendly, caring and compassionate support workers to join their fantastic staff teams at either service. 

Within their supported living service, they support 7 people with learning disabilities. They live within their own flats and they support them to access the local community, attend medical appointments, support with shopping and have great nights out such as attending the local social clubs and nightclubs. We also have a residential home located next door to this service. They support 9 adults within this service and support them to go out on the bus, go shopping, and attend activities such as sailing, bowling, night clubs, swimming and many more. Some of the people thy support also access their resource centre located in Shefford. 

As a Support Worker you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. In these roles, everything you do will enable people to have choices about their own lives, creating flexible services that meet people’s needs and always looking for the best way of doing things.

About you: 

A Diploma / NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or a similar subject) is ideal for becoming a support worker, but not essential, although a willingness to work towards one is definitely welcomed. 

You don't need experience of support work or any special qualifications for this job; you'll get plenty of training along the way. What matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people with learning disabilities
